Yesterday, the Salone del Mobile has been inaugurated by the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, who stated: “This event gathers entrepreneurial courage, creativity and culture, and gains an incredible meaning in a frame of restart and upswing of the Country”. The Supersalone has just opened its doors, but it has alrady exceeded the expectations. During the first day, it managed to hit a record in terms of sales: 30 thousand tickets, half of which has been bought by foreign visitors.

After two years, the Italian design is going to get back to its most important international date: 423 brands, 170 young creative talents and 39 makers, for a total amount of more than 1,900 exhibited projects.

This year, the Salone is going to suggest interesting innovations, like the chance to preview the products using the displayed QR code and book them before proceeding with the actual purchase. Moreover, the guests are going to have the opportunity to visit the exhibitions virtually and to witness live straming events.

A green area of about a hundred trees will welcome them, recreating a wooded atmosphere. Besides that, another hundred timber trees has been placed within chill-out areas and exhibiting spaces. At the end of the event, these trees will be gifted to the Forestami project, which aims to plant 3 million trees inside the Milan’s metropolitan area by 2030.
