Which is the most digitalised country in the world? ESTONIA, or rather, E-STONIA!

In the internet era, Estonia turns out to be the most digitalised country in Europe, if not in the whole world.

In spite of its very recent independency in 1991, when only the half of its inhabitants had a telephone landline, after just 6 years, the 97% of the schools had an internet connection.

From post-soviet country to innovation and digital transformation leader.

It is also called the “European Silicon Valley”, suffice it to recall that Skype was born there.

Today it vaunts many digital procedures: in 2002, in particular, an electronic card was introduced, through which it is possible to access to circa 4,000 public services, amongst them, the possibility to vote.

Moreover, it has been the first country to introduce the digital residence “E-residency”, that enables people to start new businesses, too.
